July 2014 Newsletter

Our featured locomotive Advance Reservation item for the month is the N Scale SD45-2. Due to our change in suppliers a few years ago these locomotives have been out of production for a long time. These nine new Advance Reservation items, featuring three all new paint schemes, DC, DCC, and DCC w/Sound options, will be added to the projects currently on reservation and they will all be produced within the next few months.

We have determined that it is necessary to change our policy regarding advance reservations of the items we are distributing for Fox Valley Models, Trainworx, and Eastern Seaboard Models. There have been a large number of reservation cancellations on these items over the past few months. This, we believe, is due to the fact that these products are available from several different sources and the availability time varies from source to source. In the future all advance reservations for these items through InterMountain Railway Company will be considered firm commitments. This policy has no effect on the liberal Advance Reservation policy for products manufactured by InterMountain Railway Company. Please coordinate this change with our sales staff.

Last month we placed several items on our website on “Cancellation” status. These are items that have been on the Advance Reservation list for several months but have not generated enough interest to justify production. These items will remain on cancellation status for two months and then will be removed from the Advance Reservation list entirely. If you have any questions about any of these items please contact us.

This is the week for the National Train Show in Cleveland. The Train Show is the wrap-up for the week long NMRA Convention and is always one of our most important shows of the year. If you are in the area make arrangements to attend. It is an ideal opportunity to visit your favorite manufacturers and find out what is coming next. Our InterMountain staff will be anxiously awaiting your visit to our booth, (booth 282-284), at the National Train Show on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 18-20.
